As the new board of officers move into place, we are looking forward to another great year! I would like to say thank you to our installing officers, Jan Dykehouse, Betty Zalocar, Flora Alwood, and Julie Harper. They all did a wonderful job.
Things are beginning to bustle around the lodge as horseshoes and golf get underway. It is really a great feeling to walk through the door and see many friendly faces!
Don't forget to purchase your tickets for the May fundraiser. The drawing for the portable firepit will be on May 26th.
Our next WOTM meetings are May 24th and Jun 14th. Please join us. We can always use some new ideas.
When you see our volunteer for the month of June, give her a big "thank you for all you do!" Congratulations to Jan Cole!
This month’s schedule:
Friday nights: May 18th – Cora’s Pizza; 25th – Build-a-Burger; 1st – Fish; 8th – Liver and Onions; 15th – Cora’s Pizza.
Saturdays are full this month. May 19th is card day. Euchre begins at 10am. This is a keep your partner format and only costs $12.50 per person. There are 15 games, with a luncheon ($3.50) break around noon. Texas Hold ‘Em is at 6pm, with registration and buffet at 4pm.
The 26th is our Birthday Steak Dinner. Remember, if it’s your birthday month, you get a $5 Steak Dinner . . . and cake! Orientation is at 4pm and Karaoke follows the dinner.
June 2nd is Horseshoes. This begins as a singles tournament at noon with a doubles tournament to follow.
Staying with Horseshoes, the Delton Moose has been challenged by a group of Kalamazoo pitchers. This will be a 3 part challenge, the first segment of which will happen on Saturday June 9th at our Lodge. This will be our best 12 guys against their best 12 guys. This should be quite a match.
Because the Women are grateful for the wonderful Steak Dinner we are going to receive on Saturday May 12th, we want to return the kind gesture and have a Father’s Day Steak Dinner on June 9th. This will begin at 5pm and be a free dinner to all LOOM members.
The 16th of June is also card day. Euchre begins at 10am. This is a keep your partner format and only costs $12.50 per person. There are 15 games, with a luncheon ($3.50) break around noon. Texas Hold ‘Em is at 6pm, with registration and buffet at 4pm.
The Moose Riders will have a special meeting on Sunday May 20th at 5pm. We will also meet (our regularly scheduled meeting) on Sunday June 3rd at 5pm.
Euchre and Poker are every Monday night. Golf and Horseshoes are every Tuesday night.
The 75 – 75 – 75 Euchre tournament (that’s right – those 75s are dollars) will be on Thursday June 7th at 7pm. In keeping with the theme – there are also 75 cent hot dogs. The cost is only $10 and includes 3 50/50 tickets. This is a great value.
